Our new undergrad (whose name doesn’t lend itself to an easy pseudonym like ‘JimBob’) calls our mutual advisor ‘Hand-Waver’. Not Dr. Hand-Waver, but Hand-Waver. It’s kind of weird.
Jim-Bob started off calling her Dr. Hand-Waver but now calls her by her first name, M, which is how she tells all of her lab underlings to address her. The new gal…seems stuck on ‘Hand-Waver’. Oh well.
