my students are as embarrassing as my kids

Yesterday my Chem 1 students were doing titrations using methyl orange as an indicator. We only had 2 little squeeze bottles of the stuff to go around amongst my 2 dozen students. Despite the fact that people only needed to add 2 drops at the beginning of the experiment, the indicator bottles seemed to be in constant demand–but never at the front of the lab where they belonged.

I sincerely hope my supervisor was not walking through during the hour or so when the lab was full of their constant calls: “Who’s got the meth? I need a hit.”

Sheesh!
